Job SummaryThe primary duty of a part‑time faculty member is teaching. The instructor will teach up to 3–6 credit hours per semester in English.

Schedule:
Meet each class as scheduled at the designated time and place and for the designated length of time. - Office
Hours:
Maintain a minimum of ten office hours for student consultation per week, appropriate to the time and delivery method of the assigned courses (e.g. evening, weekend, online, or off‑campus) and post this information. - Course Syllabus: At the beginning of each course, provide each student with a syllabus per the guidelines in the faculty handbook and develop new courses and course materials as appropriate.
- Teaching Discipline: Stay current in the teaching discipline(s) and the pedagogy of that discipline; participate in professional development activities on an ongoing basis.
- Banner Administration: Submit correct proof rosters and grades in Banner by the assigned deadlines and record daily attendance according to institutional policy.
- Assessment Submission: Submit assessment data to the discipline committee chair in a timely manner.
- Meetings: Attend and participate in all college‑wide and appropriate school meetings.
- All Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Completion of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the English discipline.
- At least two years of teaching experience.
- Doctorate degree in English.
- At least three years of teaching experience.
- Ability to engage students in higher‑order learning.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
- Ability to align instruction with student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge:
Adhere to institutional policies and procedures. - Skills:
Mastery of the teaching discipline.
