Job Summary

South Georgia State College’s School of Business and Professional Studies (SBPS) is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach CISY 1111 – Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Agentic. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate service to the college, academic achievement, professional growth and development, and course assessment. Teaching assignments may be assigned to any SGSC campus, off‑campus, day, evenings, weekends, or online.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduled Class Time(s) – Meet in‑person at the designated campus and time.
  • Travel – May require travel to all SGSC campuses and sites.
  • Course Syllabus – Provide each student with a syllabus at the beginning of each course per faculty handbook guidelines.
  • Teaching Pedagogy – Stay current in the teaching discipline(s) and the pedagogy of that discipline.
  • Banner Administrative Duties – Submit accurate rosters and grades in Banner by assigned deadlines and record daily attendance.
  • Maintain Records – Maintain adequate records of student progress and post mid‑term grades in Banner.
  • Assessment Data – Submit assessment data to the Dean of SBPS at the end of each semester by the required deadline.
  • Office Hours – Be available to meet with students outside of class.
  • Meetings – Attend part‑time faculty/supervision meetings.
  • Other Duties – Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Technology skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to engage students in higher‑order learning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
  • Ability to align instruction with student learning outcomes.
  • Adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Mastery of the teaching discipline.
