Part-Time Agriculture Instructor

Part-Time Faculty Position

South Georgia State College's School of Business and Professional Studies (SBPS) is seeking applications for part-time faculty to teach in the Associate of Science in Agriculture discipline on the Waycross Campus. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate success in some or all these areas: service to the College, academic achievement, professional growth and development, and course assessment. Teaching assignments may be assigned to any day, evenings, weekends, or on-line.

Responsibilities include scheduled class time, providing course syllabi, staying current in the teaching discipline, submitting correct proof rosters and grades in Banner by the assigned deadlines, recording daily attendance according to institutional policy, maintaining adequate records of student progress, submitting assessment data to the Dean of the SBPS at the end of each semester by the required deadline, being available to meet with students outside of class, being available for part-time faculty/supervision meetings, and performing other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include the completion of a Master's Degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline of Agriculture, Agriculture Education, Soil Science, Animal Husbandry, Farm Organization, General Horticulture, etc. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential. Technology skills and good interpersonal skills are required.

Ability to engage students in higher order learning, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms, ability to align instruction with student learning outcomes, adherence to institutional policies and procedures, and mastery of the teaching discipline are key skills and abilities.
