Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
The Facilities Engineer – Mechanical Focus provides engineering leadership and daily technical support for facility infrastructure and production support systems, with primary emphasis on mechanical systems, utilities, HVAC, capital equipment installations, and reliability engineering
. This role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and external contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
- Provide technical ownership of mechanical facility systems
, including HVAC, compressed air, water, sewage, refrigeration, and general plant utilities - Troubleshoot and resolve chronic mechanical equipment and facility issues that impact safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Lead the mechanical scope of capital equipment installations
, ensuring compliance with safety, design, workmanship, and schedule requirements - Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical assets
- Coordinate and manage outside contractors and engineering service providers for facility upgrades and repairs
- Develop and manage mechanical project budgets
, ensuring adherence to financial and purchasing procedures - Support safety and environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; actively participate in 6S activities
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, maintenance standards, and technical procedures
- Provide hands‑on support and leadership within a cross‑functional manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of facilities or manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems
, including hydraulics, pneumatics, utilities, and rotating equipment - Experience developing or supporting preventive/predictive maintenance programs
- Proven capital project and equipment installation experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or 6S methodologies
- Master’s degree or MBA (preferred, not required)
