Hatchery – Embrex Laborer

• Wash floats, transport hatcher trays, sanitize separator, sanitize hatcher, set eggs, transfer eggs, and load chicks onto conveyor.
• Wash floats (buggy) by removing hatcher trays from the float, over‑turning the float to remove debris, and rinsing with high‑pressure hose.
• Sanitize separator using a foaming system with sodium hypochlorite, then rinse with high‑pressure hose.
• Sanitize hatcher by removing fans, sweeping floor to remove debris, foaming with sodium hypochlorite, and rinsing with high‑pressure hose.
• Set eggs into incubators by lifting 10‑pound egg trays and placing them into stacked buggies from floor level to shoulder level.
• Transfer eggs: push buggies with eggs to vaccination table, place trays on table, then place back onto buggy and roll to hatcher.
• Load chicks onto belt by removing chick trays from buggy and placing tray onto conveyor.

Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Requires pinch grip, back extension/flexion, and/or shoulder extension/flexion.

Hearing protection in posted areas; slip resistant shoes in all areas; steel toe shoes during set and transfer; cotton gloves optional.

1–2 weeks.

Conditions are wet and humid during sanitation process. Team members spend approximately 2 hours per shift in incubators, which are 99°F and are exposed to dusty conditions when chicks are in production.
