Physician Assistant

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant treats both physical and mental conditions through comprehensive history taking, physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. Mid-level can then diagnose the disease and then provide appropriate treatment for the patient.

Education

Registered Professional Nurse License and Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program or Graduate of PA Program

Licensure

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification or PA license
Nurse Practitioners License in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing or PA license in good standing with the Medical Board
CPR certification/ACLS and PALS as required for speciality
Up to date CME's

Experience

Prefer experience within a physician office

Specific Duties and Performance Standards

Work in an independent and interdependent relationship with co-workers of the medical staff which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral(s).
Ability to use CPT and ICD-9 coding effectively and appropriately.
Signs off on all dictation/test ordered as well as ensuring collaborating physician signs as well.
Assist physician as needed.
Assist with any nursing duties as needed.
Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
