Manages, plans, budgets, and directs the Forest's safety and occupational health program, ensuring OSHA compliance and effective program delivery.
Develops annual action plans, goals, policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and training programs.
Conducts safety inspections, identify hazards, and implements corrective or preventative measures across facilities, operations, and field activities.
Reviews engineering plans for new construction or modifications and recommends changes to ensure safety standards and risk reduction.
Investigates mishaps, prepares detailed reports, analyze trends in SHIPS, and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
Provides technical safety guidance and promotes safety awareness for employees, volunteers, and public visitors through training and education campaigns.
