Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Reports to:

Foreman, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $27.00+ per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

A Scraper Operator will work in pits and quarries strilling topsoil, overburdening, and reclaiming. Take ownership of your role by completing trip inspections, operating equipment safely, and working with a team that feels like family.

Travel is Required!

Primary Responsibilities:

* Operate scraper safely and productively in pits and quarries stripping topsoil, overburdening, and reclaiming.

* Complete pre and post-trip inspection and other required paperwork.

* Fuel, grease, maintain, and help service equipment.

* Operate and maintain other equipment as needed (i.e. loader, skid loader, etc.).

* Assist in the field as a laborer (i.e. shoveling, cleaning equipment, set-up and tear down, etc.).

* Team player mentality and eagerness to cross-train on topics such as laborer, mechanics, etc.

* Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

Position Requirements :

* Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.

* Current MSHA certification.

* Use of hand tools to maintain and repair equipment.

* Mechanical background and skill.

* Personal protective equipment is required.

* Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.

* Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.

* Work well with crew members and take direction from supervisor.

* A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.

* Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.

* Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
