Job Title
A highly skilled CDL Driver specializing in fluid hauling, responsible for operating manual-transmission tanker and bobtail trucks to safely transport flowback, produced water, and fresh water to oilfield locations. Strong emphasis on DOT compliance, vehicle inspections, accurate documentation, and effective communication with dispatch and customers, all while maintaining vehicle readiness and professional presentation.
Key Responsibilities /Essential Functions- Operate manual 18-speed transmissions with precision for smooth shifting and control under varying road conditions.
- Drive tanker trucks, bobtail trucks, and other heavy vehicles to transport water, equipment, and materials.
- Transport flowback fluids, produced water, and fresh water to and from production locations—including fracking sites, coil tubing units, and drilling rigs.
- Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting and reporting defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain strict compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Participate proactively in scheduled safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard assessments.
- Accurately complete and maintain driver logs, inspection reports, load tickets, and other required documentation for billing and regulatory purposes.
- Conduct daily load ticket documentation and promptly process customer billing submissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other stakeholders—providing clear updates and maintaining professionalism.
- Document customer requests clearly and coordinate responses promptly with dispatch.
- Execute all assigned driving tasks reliably, adhering to schedules and route requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicles and ensure all equipment remains in proper working order.
- Adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) protocols and other driving time regulations to ensure lawful and safe operations.
- Current CDL-A with tanker endorsement
- Must be able to operate a manual 18-speed
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Provide training that meets 1888 industry standards and customer expectations
- Hazmat endorsement is a plus but not required
- Maintain a safe driving record per MVR
- Current Medical Card
- Positive work history and dependability
- Oilfield knowledge is a benefit, but not required
- Per federal DOT regulations (49 CFR § 391.11), applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to safely perform the duties of a CDL/DOT driver.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check to company standards.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical test and drug and alcohol screening.
- Vision:
Must meet DOT standards—typically at least 20/40 in both eyes and sufficient peripheral vision. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a current and valid CDL.
- Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
- 80%-90% of the time is spent sitting, driving, and communicating with dispatch.
- 10%-20% of the time will be spent climbing in and out of trucks, lifting and pulling up to 50 lbs, using stairs to traverse containment walls, as well as bending, reaching, kneeling and walking.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to Commute to Ault, CO
Compensation: $26 - $28 per hour DOE
