PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist the Library Media Specialist in carrying out the routines of the library media program operation.
PAY GRADE:
Classified Salary Schedule - 188 - Grade 04
- Salary Range: $24,300.00 to $36,893.00. Salary placement will be based on the Douglas County Board of Education-approved salary schedules and years of verified experience.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 188 Days (10 Months)
REPORTS TO: Library Media Specialist
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Minimum High School Diploma.
EXPERIENCE: One year of successful general office experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PROFICIENT
SKILLS:
Communicates effectively with the public both orally and in writing; has the ability to use or the aptitude to learn technology applications used in library and office settings; has strong clerical skills (typing/keyboarding, filing, performing basic mathematical functions, etc.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performs clerical and secretarial work.
- Performs routine library functions.
- Assists students and staff in any manner needed in the Media Center.
- Assists in preparing bulletin boards and displays.
- Maintains library media center records.
- Helps students and staff locate materials.
