Company OverviewThe AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four heavy civil construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, and site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States. We do a wide variety of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, power plants, dams, reservoirs, underground utilities, and more.
Position SummaryPipe Layers will work under the direct supervision of the jobsite foreman, superintendent, and project manager. The laborer is responsible for tasks involving physical labor and may include lifting, pulling, digging, cleaning work sites, maintaining and cleaning equipment and tools.
Responsibilities- Install and align pipelines and underground utilities according to project specifications.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and pipe-laying machines.
- Assist with excavation, trenching, and grading activities.
- Ensure proper placement and alignment of pipes, fittings, and connectors.
- Perform inspections and repairs on existing pipelines as needed.
- Minimum of 5 years in construction labor.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pipeline installation or related field.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in pipeline installation.
- Proficiency in pipeline installation techniques and underground utility construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Familiarity with various types of pipe materials, fittings, and connectors.
- Knowledge of excavation, trenching, shoring, and grading techniques.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to pipeline installation.
- The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects.
- The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination.
- The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
- The employee must have excellent stamina.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Certification in pipeline installation or relevant vocational training is preferred.
