Douglasville Center for Nursing and Healing is seeking a Risk Manager/Staff Development Coordinator for a great opportunity in the Douglasville GA area
This role will function as both the Risk Manager and Staff Development Coordinator.
The Risk Manager’s responsibilities include the development, implementation and management of the risk management program consistent with Georgia law and administrative rules.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
· Collaborate with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
· Serve as a key member of the facility’s core management team and ensures effective integration of nursing services into overall hospital operations.
· Responsible for the provision, orientation and training of staff members on Risk Management and Performance Improvement initiatives hospital wide.
· Conducts investigations into allegations or concerns of a patient or risk management related issues, such as allegations of patient abuse or neglect.
· Assists with the communication of new policies and procedures to staff.
· Coordinates and chairs, attends, and participates with hospitals Risk Management /Safety Committee Meetings.
· Coordinates and provides support services for all Risk Management activities and reviews data and reports.
· Provides information and standards to staff in the following areas:
Problem assessment techniques including criteria development, data retrieval and display, data analysis and confidentiality of Performance Improvement data;
Compliance with hospital, State and Federal regulation and Joint commission standards; revision and review of hospital policies and procedures as needed.
· Assures that Risk Management reports are completed monthly. Provides monthly, quarterly and annual reports of Risk Management and Quality Assurance activities and data.
· Review and revise as necessary, all policies and procedures related to risk management on an annual basis.

- Ensures facility is in compliance with regulatory requirements relating to staff credentialing and education.
- Provides services associated with ongoing professional development of staff at the facility.
- Conducts new employee orientation and coordinates competency completion.
- Ensures for or delivers annual mandatory and continuous education for staff using internal or external resources according to state and federal regulations and company policy.
- Teaches certain in-house courses, such as the CNA training program, special care unit training, etc.
- Coordinates employee health program (immunizations, flu shots, physical exams, etc.)
- Monitors and ensures current licensure and certifications of facility staff
- Maintains employee education, training and health files.
Job Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) preferred
