Field Service Technician (Savannah, GA)

Compensation: Salary ranges from $38.05 to $44.25 per hour based on skills and experience.

Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades, and refurbishments on equipment at external and Hiab locations following Manager’s instructions. Build productive customer relationships and adhere to best practices in all administrative and technical activities.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities Technical and Product Knowledge- Stay updated on technical developments via internal service bulletins and technical courses as instructed by the District Service Manager.
- Keep up‑to‑date with technical specifications of relevant equipment.
- Respond to customers as instructed by the District Service Manager to maximize satisfaction.
- Follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines.
- Protect self and others.
- Follow safety rules, working practices, and environmental requirements.
- Alert the District Service Manager if equipment safety is jeopardized.
- Operate assigned service vehicle per Hiab policy and regulations.
- Maintain the service vehicle per manufacturer standards with fleet support.
- Respect and protect Hiab and third‑party property.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, report, and plan service or repair as instructed.
- Submit regular reports per District Service Manager’s format.
- Keep adequate records in line with agreed standards.
- Plan and manage time and resources for maximum benefit.
- Make cost‑effective judgments on service delivery.
- Maintain documentation for accurate invoicing.
- Protect and trace spare parts security.
- Recognize and communicate sales opportunities to the District Service Manager.
- Provide feedback to support quality improvement.
- Participate in innovative thinking for service efficiency.
- Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
- Maintain a positive image of the Hiab brand and adhere to the Quality System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Obtain and maintain a 1‑year DOT Medical Card.
- Adapt to variable physical site conditions without supervision.
- Hold a qualification from a higher vocational school (below BSc) in mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electrics, electronics, or equivalent experience.
- Possess technical knowledge of all Hiab product lines.
- Know diesel engines and hydraulic drive systems.
- Speak local language fluently and have working knowledge of English.
- Hold operating licenses for all equipment used in line with local requirements.
- Maintain records in compliance with agreement terms.
- Understand Hiab operating and technical procedures.
- Meet all safety and environmental requirements.
- Own required tools.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or secondary college preferred.
- 3+ years in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical operations preferred.
- Customer‑oriented.

- Hands‑on mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic operation skills.
