Description:
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.
They ensure patients and families receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.
The practice is guided by Nurse Managers and supported through a professional governance model.
RN competencies are derived from evidence-based practice and research.
All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed and knowledgeable.
They uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the relevant professional guidelines.
The individual will uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals.
Core responsibilities include performing the nursing process in clinical care.
They must provide patient-centered care that reflects understanding of cultural diversity.
The nurse must coordinate care through effective partnerships and keep patients updated.
They should practice using current clinical standards.
The RN Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating safe, quality patient care.
They must demonstrate teamwork and collaboration to promote recruitment and retention.
Participation in performance improvement activities is expected.
This includes supporting research and leading such activities to enhance patient care.
Professional development involves completing ongoing competency assessments.
Serving as a mentor for other nurses is encouraged to ensure a qualified workforce.
Participating in evidence-based practice and research is essential.
The RN Clinical Nurse must uphold all healthcare policies and standards.
The role requires proactive planning for patient care across the continuum.
Participation in protocol and procedure development is encouraged.
Support for the efficient use of resources is necessary.
