Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports Plasma Center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Conduct blood testing, review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable findings and medical or technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health or ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state licensing.
- State licensure as an LPN or LVN in the assignment location.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- In‑state licensure requirement for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationHourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (USA – GA – Douglasville). Final compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and job location.
