Reports To: Executive Director

Summary

The Wellness Director ensures delivery of quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents’ individual capabilities, implements and monitors effective Assisted Living systems; ensures clinical/health services are in compliance with community standards and State regulations, serves as a clinical resource for Community staff, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Galerie Management standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures quality resident care is consistently delivered in accordance with all local, state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborates and partners with physicians, pharmacy and other medical professionals to promote quality care and independence for our residents
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and leading all nursing associates including, but not limited to Memory Care Director, Resident Care Coordinator, CMAs, and Resident Assistants
  • Conducts comprehensive resident pre‑admission, admission and quarterly assessments in accordance with Galerie Management policy and procedures
  • Provide on‑call support for the community
  • Ensures compliance, efficiency and team’s understanding of policies and procedures
  • Maintains the standards of care practice within the community
  • Assess and monitor residents’ health care needs through appropriate actions, training, consultation, and delegation
  • Ensures compliance with all Galerie Management policies and procedures that govern clinical services
  • Order and maintain inventory of health‑related supplies and equipment for residents
  • Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development
  • Responsible for collaborating with other departments to ensure quality resident care and staff development
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budget process for staffing and clinical services
  • Evaluates the quality and cost‑effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the community
  • Serves as spokesperson for caregiving matters and represents the community with a professional demeanor
  • Participates in appropriate meetings and committees
  • Meets with families as requested
  • Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Maintain a current active Registered Nurse (RN) license OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department
