Position Summary
Safe Haven Security is looking for an Installation Technician / Security Advisor to join our organization. In the role you will install, service, and troubleshoot residential alarm and automation systems, ensuring proper functioning and optimal performance of security systems to give customers peace of mind.
In this role you will:
- Perform installation of security alarm systems including control panels, sensors, cameras, and related equipment.
- Engage in sales consultations with customers to understand needs and recommend appropriate security solutions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing of installed systems to ensure all components function correctly.
- Educate customers on proper use and functionality of their systems.
- Complete paperwork such as installation reports, service tickets, and inventory records.
- Stay updated on security technologies, emerging trends, and industry standards.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Basic tools necessary for job duties.
- Proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining security alarm systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
What Safe Haven requires:
- Auto insurance that meets company standards.
- Ability to obtain an alarm agent permit where applicable.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Candidates must meet the following physical requirements:
- Sustained standing, climbing ladders, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Use of hand and power tools, handling small components accurately.
- Lifting, carrying, and positioning heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, crouching, reaching, and maintaining balance on ladders or at heights.
- Working in diverse indoor/outdoor environments with temperature fluctuations.
- Driving personal vehicle for long periods during the day.
