ControlsTechnician I Responsibilities
The Controls Technician I's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, implementing and programming preconfigured Direct Digital Controls (DDC) software. This position requires technical experience in multiple BMS platforms (e.g. Niagara AX/N4, Distech, Honeywell) with the ability to migrate communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Lon Works. With knowledge in this field, the System Specialist will assist in completing point‑to‑point checkout and functional testing while documenting.
Job Responsibilities (list is not inclusive)- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and Lon Works communication protocols.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and digital equipment such as multimeters.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 80 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service; the customer always comes first.
- Computer proficiency in Windows OS and MS Office.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work well with team members and willingness to follow instructions.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- OSHA 10 required.
- Degree/Certificates in related field.
- Electrical/Mechanical knowledge.
- Must have one to three years of experience.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- Use hand(s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
- Reach with hand(s) and arm(s).
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
