Responsibilities

  • Drive a pickup truck with trailer or ancillary equipment along designated routes to deliver, swap, or retrieve carts
  • Deliver carts to residential locations at curbside or back door
  • Inspect and evaluate carts and customer sites to ensure safe servicing per company standards and service agreements
  • Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections; complete and submit a vehicle condition report at the end of the shift
  • Load and unload carts to and from the trailer manually or using a forklift
  • Interact courteously with customers and the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests; notify supervisor of issues requiring management action
  • Clean loose trash off of the truck and/or ground around the cube container that spills during loading/unloading to maintain a clean customer site and ensure road and highway safety
  • Maintain and submit logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report as required by law or company policy
  • Maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back up
  • Use a key map and GPS to locate service addresses
  • Follow safe operating practices, including lock‑out/tag‑out procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck
  • Adhere to all safety and company regulations and standards
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Meet relevant criteria for safety‑sensitive functions according to company standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the truck and its components and basic maintenance requirements for safe operation
  • Ability to control equipment operations and maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances of approximately 120 feet or more
  • Ability to recognize unacceptable waste (such as gasoline or other flammable materials)
  • Effective communication with internal and external customers
  • Reading, writing, and comprehension of associated documents and maps
  • Understanding and following oral and written instructions
  • Flexibility to accept and adapt to change and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting or standing
  • Adherence to all company safety policies and procedures
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell
  • Visual requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus during constant maneuvering in tight and high‑traffic areas
  • Occasional lifting of 50 or more pounds
  • Primarily driving, requiring sitting 75% of the time
  • Ability to work in usually loud conditions
Working Conditions
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rain, extreme hot and cold weather conditions (seasonal), moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles
  • Work outdoors up to 100% of the time
  • Continuous route away from branch location throughout the day
  • Occasional work in high and precarious places
  • Constant exposure to motor vehicle traffic conditions
  • Work environment is usually loud
