Guest Service Agent

Role OverviewAs a vital member of our Front Office team onboard our River vessels, you’ll provide warm, personalized front‑desk and concierge service to guests around the clock. Your role is central to ensuring every interaction reflects Viking River Cruises’ exceptional standards. Alongside delivering outstanding hospitality, you’ll support and oversee all tasks related to Guest Services. You’ll report directly to the Guest Service Manager.
WhatYou Will Do On Board
- Serve as the central information point for all guests, providing 24-hour concierge services
- Ensure smooth check-in and check-out procedures
- Handle onboard sales transactions and operate systems including the phone switchboard, cashless payment system, and safety system
- Maintain and update the guest infotainment system and daily logbook
- Address guest complaints promptly and assist with medical disembarkations
- Coordinate and confirm guests’ departure arrangements, organize travel documents, and assist with shore excursions and reservations
- Prepare guest lists for embarkation/disembarkation, party invitations, menus, and special letters from ship management
- Maintain accurate guest records using IT systems (MXP, Microsoft products)
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers using patience, tact, and diplomacy to support conflict de‑escalation
- Participate in safety and security procedures including evacuation drills, fire prevention, Safety Task Force duties, and security patrols
- Work scheduled day and night shifts as assigned by management, maintaining a positive, can‑do attitude under pressure

- High school diploma required, degree with hospitality focus preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in an upscale cruise line or comparable hotel in a similar position
- Must maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Extensive walking and standing required
- Fluent in English, with excellent oral & written communication skills, second language as per itinerary is an advantage
- Only tattoos that can be covered by your uniform are allowed
- Any offer of employment is subject to you passing all mandatory medical examinations as required
