Job Description

Our Dover-based accounting firm is seeking an experienced Business & Personal Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys navigating complex tax matters and building strong client relationships.

CPA or Retired CPA Preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns
• Provide tax planning services, including estimated payments and extensions
• Communicate with clients to gather required information and explain tax results
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and support financial reporting needs
• Research tax issues and assist with audits, notices, and inquiries
• Manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy and deadlines

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
• CPA license (active or retired preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years of tax preparation experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  Quick Books experience is an asset
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach

Work Schedule & Flexibility:

• Standard hours:
  Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Half-day Fridays outside of tax season
• Saturdays required during tax season
• In-office during tax season; hybrid schedule (3 days in-office) during the off-season
