Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Corporate Accounting) in New Castle County, DE for our client, supporting corporate accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting activities within a large publicly traded organization. This role will assist with general ledger accounting, SEC and regulatory reporting support, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial analysis while partnering closely with accounting and finance teams across multiple business units.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced within public accounting, corporate accounting, or SEC reporting environments.
- Corporate Accounting:
Support general accounting operations, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. - Financial Reporting:
Assist with financial statement preparation, SEC reporting support, and regulatory reporting activities. - Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, accounting policies, and internal control procedures. - Financial Analysis:
Perform account analysis, variance analysis, and reporting support for management and finance teams. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with FP&A, operational finance, and business unit teams on reporting and accounting initiatives. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting efficiency, and control processes.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. - Certifications:
CPA or progress toward CPA certification is required. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of public accounting, corporate accounting, or related accounting experience is required. - Industry Knowledge:
Experience with GAAP, financial reporting, SOX compliance, and corporate accounting processes is required. - Technical
Skills:
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large financial data sets and accounting systems are preferred. - Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are required.
