Westside Family Healthcare is a nonprofit organization providing high quality primary medical care without regard to ability to pay. The Dental Assistants provide hands‑on support to Dentists and complete pre‑procedural work to enable efficient patient care. Their duties include completing intake paperwork and updating patient records, sterilizing, organizing dental tools, and assisting during dental procedures.

• Escort patients to and from rooms.
• Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in the patient’s chart.
• Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist.
• Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary.
• Monitor patient flow.
• Keep dental units ready, stocked, and clean.
• Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to the company’s protocol.
• Keep trays, instruments, and treatment room drawers organized.
• Arrange patient charts and radiographs for the next day’s appointments.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic life support certification.
• Current Delaware X‑ray certification.
• Six months of experience using Microsoft Office software.
• Six months of experience using electronic dental or medical record software.
• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience.
