Seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized support within an Early Childhood setting for children ages 2‑5. This contract position based in Dover, DE offers an opportunity to impact young learners through early intervention and inclusive preschool programs.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver direct therapy services through individual, small group, or classroom‑integrated sessions.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and staff to embed speech and language goals into the educational curriculum.
- Monitor, document, and maintain student progress records compliant with all applicable guidelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning.
- Support early intervention and preschool special education, including inclusive classroom models.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and legal requirements.
- Masters degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure and/or certification such as ASHA CCC‑SLP or CFY eligibility;
Delaware state certification if required. - Preferred experience working with preschool‑aged children in public schools or early intervention environments.
- Strong understanding of child development, early literacy, play‑based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility procedures.
