Posting Description: Primary School Teacher - Grade 2

NCS is seeking a passionate early education/elementary education teacher. A successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of content and pedagogy. Strong candidates will be experts in early literacy, the science of reading and CKLA. A successful candidate will create a climate and culture where students are challenged to critically think and problem solve. The candidate must be committed to building strong relationships with students and families and demonstrate expertise in working with diverse groups of students.

Reports to: Building Principal

Terms of Employment: 10-month Position

Salary: Commensurate with degree level and experience

Minimum Qualifications: Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Teacher of Early Childhood or Teacher of Elementary;
Special Education certification preferred

  • Deliver an instructional program that is multifaceted to accommodate different learning styles, different levels of social and intellectual maturity, and different degrees of academic interest and achievement.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, stay current with best practices, and contribute to a culture of lifelong learning.
  • Prioritize parental engagement in the instructional program and as partners to ensure the academic success of all students.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Promote high expectations for behavior standards and enforce the Code of Conduct.
  • Contribute to the school community outside of the instructional program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Standard Requirements: Favorable Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check for the candidate who is offered employment
