A teacher wanted to co-lead classrooms and co-facilitate learning in all subjects in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. We seek someone eager to collaborate with their colleagues to support students of all abilities, especially those with disabilities, in a non-selective school. This person should have a strong command of a content area, with particular strengths in adapting instructional practices and materials for various student needs.

Ideal candidates are compassionate and caring educators who value the power of relationships in their teaching practice in a unique setting.

The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE) is a free public charter school that will grow to serve grades 6 through 12 in Sussex County, Delaware. BASSE aims to provide a personalized academic experience focusing on service-learning and leadership opportunities for our students and staff. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of School and Special Education Coordinator, the Special Education Teacher will:

Collaborate with general education teachers, parents/guardians, and other specialists to develop comprehensive individualized education plans (IEPs) for a caseload of students with disabilities.
Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and co-teach lessons, incorporating differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, and assistive technology tools to support diverse learners.
