We seek someone eager to collaborate with their colleagues to support students of all abilities, especially those with disabilities, in a non-selective school. This person should have a strong command of a content area, with particular strengths in adapting instructional practices and materials for various student needs.

Ideal candidates are compassionate and caring educators who value the power of relationships in their teaching practice in a unique setting.

WHO WE ARE

The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE) is a free public charter school that will grow to serve grades 6 through 12 in Sussex County, Delaware. BASSE aims to provide a personalized academic experience focusing on service-learning and leadership opportunities for our students and staff. Inspired by our school's namesake, Bryan Stevenson, a prolific social justice activist and lawyer from Milton, Delaware, the BASSE community has dedicated its mission to proximity.

We will create pathways for our students, families, and communities by getting close to those facing challenges and partnering with them to create solutions.

These five core values are at the root of everything we do to serve our school community:

EXCELLENCE-We want to foster a culture of excellence by ensuring rigorous and high-quality instruction for all students through a supportive and challenging learning environment created by compassionate and committed educators.

EQUITY-We want to foster a culture of equity by increasing our students' access to local resources and global opportunities in an environment where students feel connected to one another and valued for who they are as individuals.

COMMUNITY-We want to embrace our community by building bridges between our students, their families, and the community at large through providing access to wraparound services and resources to our families and contributing to our community through our students' service projects.

VOICE-We want to elevate the voices of our students by providing them with a platform to address the current state of our community and the opportunity to plant the seeds for its future.

HOPE-We want to inspire hope by facilitating spaces where students see the exponential potential of our community and explore how they can contribute to its health while meeting their full potential.
