This position is for a PreK classroom in a Delaware school. The position works a 183 day school year, 5 days per week and 6.75 hours per day.

Hourly Rate by Year of Service:

• Year 1: $17.06
• Year 2: $17.87
• Year 3: $18.70
• Year 4: $19.51
• Year 5: $20.33
• Year 6: $20.94
• Year 7: $21.57
• Year 8: $22.18
• Year 9: $22.78
• Year 10: $23.41
• Year 11: $24.02
• Year 12: $24.57

Paid Stipends
:
Full-time early childhood assistants can receive up to three paid stipends in the 2026-27 school year! These stipends provide an additional week of pay during Fall, Winter and Spring breaks.

The hourly rate for a current EVSC assistant will be based on years of service with EVSC in an assistant role. Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with EVSC in this role if an employee has worked 120 days in a school year. New employees will begin on year 1.

• Completion of the Child Development Associate Certificate and/or completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education required.
• Or complete required online professional development within 60 days of employment. This position does require an additional certification of a CDA. If you are interested in the position but do not have your CDA, programs are in place that can financially support employees in achieving their CDA while working in the role. Completion of the CDA must be performed within one year of employment.

• National criminal background check, including fingerprints, and Child Protective Index check.
• Physical, TB test and drug screen.
• Online training for Child Abuse and Neglect, Foundations, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Safe Sleep.
• A valid driver's license is required for travel to various schools.

• Anthem medical insurance plans: single medical, dental and vision insurance are provided. Employees may pay the additional cost to add family members.
