Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Dover, Delaware

Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
  • Demonstrated experience working with students who have visual impairments in educational settings
  • Proficient in adapting curriculum and instructional materials for accessibility
  • Skilled in Braille instruction, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility support
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with educators, families, and related service providers
  • Ability to develop and implement IEP goals tailored to individual student needs
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to support individualized learning plans
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure optimal support
  • Conduct assessments and track student progress
  • Provide training and resources on assistive technology for students and staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to comprehensive educational planning
