Secondary Math Teacher

The Delaware Military Academy has an opening for a secondary math teacher for our 9th through 12th grade program. The ideal candidate will hold a Delaware teaching certificate in secondary mathematics and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Support the academic, social, emotional and leadership growth of each cadet
• Plan and deliver academic lessons that are aligned with the common core state standards
• Communicate (positively and growth opportunities) with parents on a regular basis
• Maintain grades in a timely manner
• Provide additional instruction, as needed, for struggling cadets
• Participate as part of a larger team of academic professionals to ensure the success of our cadets
• Provide support to cadets to ensure they are prepared for college entrance testing
• Become an integral part of the DMA program through extracurricular activities and professional development
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and education requirements:

Candidates must hold a Delaware teaching certificate for secondary mathematics and have at least three years of classroom experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multitask. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing mathematics lessons which integrates current educational technologies. Teachers are expected to work in a professional setting with other grade level and content area teachers.

Preferred skills:

• Experience working with Interactive whiteboards (SMART Boards)
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
• Experience with Infinite Campus SIS
