Job Overview

The Student Enrichment Coordinator supports student engagement, retention, and success within the Highmark Healthcare Center of Excellence at Delaware Tech’s Dover Campus. This position is responsible for providing student support services, assisting with program operations, and creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for healthcare students.

Schedule:

Part‑time evening position, Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (up to 20 hours per week). Salary: $22.46 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and meet with students/program participants to assist them in the selection of a college or career, goal setting, peer relations, etc.
  • Refer students to appropriate social service agencies and/or guidance counselors when other issues impact their graduation or post‑secondary education.
  • Assist students in completing college applications, Department of Labor paperwork, and/or financial aid forms.
  • Consult and meet with public school district personnel, parents, and tutors to ensure students’ academic progress, e.g., discussing report cards and planning an academic program.
  • Research, develop, and present workshops/seminars on topics such as the SAT, college application, and financial aid process, time management, test‑taking strategies, self‑esteem, and the value of education.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct field trips to work sites and colleges to acquaint students with career and post‑secondary education opportunities.
  • Maintain student records on attendance, grades, awards, release forms, etc., and file documentation of program activities.
  • Recruit participants for the program by establishing contact with high schools, service organizations, and agencies, and by conducting orientation sessions; follow up on interested participants.
  • Research, write, and distribute program newsletters or other communications.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of college and program policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the means to access these resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in conducting workshops and seminars for participants.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of relevant experience, including working with students from the targeted population, or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
