Tutor II - English

Job Overview

Incumbent will tutor English students grades 9-12 to supplement classroom instruction.

• Tutor small groups or one‑to‑one students.
• In cooperation with instructors, determines appropriate teaching and learning resources.
• Develop assessment tools to evaluate student progress.
• Monitor and record student progress using assessment tools.
• Assist staff in program planning, evaluation, and review of student progress.
• Develop guidelines and criteria for program implementation and evaluation.
• Attend orientation and training sessions and schedule meetings.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports of tutoring and related activities to supervisor.
• Schedule tutoring sessions considering student needs and availability.
• Establish and maintain open communication with technology instructors and counselors within the assigned area.
• Perform other work as required.

• Knowledge of relevant subject matter in English.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of learning resources and teaching methods.
• Knowledge of various types of academic assessment tools.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $19.98 per hour.
