Educational Training Specialist – Certified Nursing Assistant
Incumbent will be responsible for teaching Certified Nursing Assistant courses to adult learners and high‑school students. The hours will depend on course needs.
Applicants must have a minimum of two years registered nurse experience, including at least one year in a federal skilled nursing home facility or in a Delaware licensed nursing facility. Applicants must also have a minimum of one year teaching experience.
Summary StatementAn incumbent is responsible for conducting and/or teaching workshops, seminars, and courses; evaluating participants; developing and implementing curricula; providing individual tutoring, advisement, and counseling services to Workforce Development and Community Education Division participants/students; and supporting division activities.
Principal Accountabilities- Knowledge of teaching techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of relevant subject matter in the incumbent’s discipline/department.
- Knowledge of counseling skills and techniques.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to effectively communicate subject matter content and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Four (4) years of relevant experience, including experience working in a long‑term care facility.
- Current Delaware RN license.
