Position Specific Details

Provide instruction for Drwaing 1 (VSC 109). Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 am–12:30 pm and/or Tuesday/Thursday 1:00 pm–3:30 pm.

Summary Statement

An incumbent is responsible for implementing curricula, instructing assigned courses consistent with syllabi, evaluating student learning, and fostering student success.

Nature and Scope

An incumbent reports to the Dean of Instruction through an Instructional Director, Department Chairperson or Program Coordinator. The incumbent is expected to plan, organize, and instruct to promote and direct successful student learning in keeping with the College’s values and goals.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Plan, organize, and instruct courses as assigned by the Department Chairperson/supervisor, using effective instructional strategies, the LMS, communication, classroom management, leadership, and instructional technology.
  • Demonstrate sound practices in instruction and classroom management that respond to students’ diverse academic needs.
  • Follow the prescribed course outline and use texts selected by the department plus other supplemental material deemed appropriate.
  • Provide instruction according to the class meeting schedule and instructional hours established for the session and delivery method; notify the Department Chairperson of any cancellation as soon as possible.
  • Assist students toward successful completion by providing outreach, guidance, and timely feedback.
  • Make oneself accessible and available to answer students’ questions in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to College policies and procedures relating to employment, academic matters, student behavior, and the Academic Calendar; maintain student records and report progress and attendance timely.
  • Encourage students to complete the course evaluation, review summaries, and develop improvement plans as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in various College meetings for orientation, professional development, or other departmental activities as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Four (4) years of relevant experience.
