REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have an associate's degree, sixty (60) credits, and a passing score on the Para Pathways Praxis®
- Must have CDL License
- Must be able to successfully complete and maintain certification in the district approved behavioral intervention program applicable for the setting (e.g. Safe & Positive Approaches to Behavior)
- Must be able to work well with children, staff, and community

General Description: The Job Coach at the Sussex Consortium supports students with disabilities (ages 14-22) in school-based, community-based, and workplace settings to build independence, employability, and life skills. The Job Coach implements instructional and behavioral plans, provides on-the-job training and coaching, and collaborates with employers and school teams to promote successful transition to adult life.

Worksite Coaching & Supervision- Accompanies students to on-campus and off-campus worksites, ensuring safety, professionalism, and adherence to school policies.
- Monitors student performance and provides real-time feedback, corrective guidance, and positive reinforcement.
- Communicates regularly with worksite supervisors to understand expectations, coordinates tasks, and resolves minor issues.
- Supports students in using worksite tools, equipment, and technology safely and appropriately.
- Maintains continuous visual supervision of assigned students.
- Builds positive working relationships with job site supervisors and staff as a representative of the Sussex Consortium and CHSD
- Collaborates with the vocational specialist, special education teachers, transition coordinators, specialists and administrators to support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals related to employment and independence.
- Provides input for IEP meetings, progress reports, and transition planning based on observations and data.
- Communicates promptly with district staff regarding attendance, performance concerns, safety incidents, and student needs.
- Collects and records data on student progress, skill acquisition, job performance, and required supports.
- Documents daily activities, attendance, and worksite notes in accordance with district procedures.
- Reports incidents, injuries, or behavioral concerns following district protocols.
- Reinforces appropriate workplace behaviors such as punctuality, professionalism, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Uses district-approved behavior support strategies (PBS, restorative practices, de-escalation techniques) to address challenges.
- Coaches students in self-advocacy, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal interactions.
- Drives district-provided transportation with students to off-campus worksites, ensuring safe behavior and supervision.
- Assists students entering/exiting vehicles safely.
- Assists with transportation transitions (arrival/dismissal, loading/unloading buses, supervising students in transit) as assigned.
- Ensures all worksite activities comply with student IEPs, district policies, and state/federal labor laws related to student employment experiences.
