Education Level: 4 Year Degree Wallace Montgomery is searching for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Site Development team in our Dover, Delaware office. Senior Engineers assist with project design work and other project related tasks within the Site Civil department and collaborate with other departments as needed. Essential Functions:
Perform and review geotechnical engineering analyses including slope stability, settlement analysis, bearing capacity evaluations, retaining wall design, and foundation recommendations. Provide QA/QC review and technical oversight for projects within the Geotechnical Division to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications. Manage selected projects. Participate in presentations such as public meetings. Monitor work performed and all client requests for work and identify work tasks that are outside approved scope of work.
Compile and summarize technical analyses, design recommendations, material selections, construction specifications, and quantity estimates for inclusion in pavement and geotechnical reports and bid documents. Conduct risk assessments related to geotechnical conditions, including subsurface variability, groundwater impacts, and construction risks. Assist in the coordination of subconsultant activities along with assisting with proposal development, project scoping, and cost estimating for geotechnical and pavement engineering services.
Perform/monitor project filing and archiving to ensure project records are maintained in accordance with company policies. Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures for geotechnical investigations, testing protocols, and design methodologies for various projects. Monitor current design trends/methodologies related to their area of expertise to ensure that the company remains up to date with software, training needs and similar issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree Required or Equivalent Experience Professional Engineer License required Professional Geologist License preferred 8 years minimum Design Experience preferred
