Position: Vice President Capital Markets (Investor Relation)

We are an independent sponsor firm focused on sourcing and managing private investment opportunities. Our team partners with a broad network of debt and equity investors to fund transactions across diverse industries. Role Summary

The Vice President of Capital Markets – Investor Relations is a senior leadership role responsible for building, managing, and expanding the firm’s investor ecosystem. You will serve as a key ambassador for Dark Alpha Capital, crafting compelling investment narratives, driving capital raising efforts, and maintaining exceptional relationships with current and prospective limited partners (LPs). This position is central to the firm’s growth, ensuring a steady pipeline of committed capital for high-quality deals in sectors such as Industrials, Healthcare, Aerospace & Defense, and other targeted verticals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investor Strategy & Fundraising: Lead capital raising initiatives, including the development of fund marketing materials, pitch decks, data rooms, and investor presentations. Manage the full fundraising cycle from prospect identification to closing.
  • Investor Relations & Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive investor relations programs, including quarterly updates, annual meetings, performance reporting, and proactive LP communications.
  • Capital Markets Narrative: Craft and refine the firm’s equity story, investment thesis, and sector‑specific narratives to resonate with institutional investors, family offices, and strategic partners.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain a robust network of capital partners. Identify, qualify, and cultivate relationships with new investors while deepening existing LP relationships.
  • Deal Marketing & Capital Deployment: Support the marketing of individual investment opportunities to targeted investors. Coordinate due diligence processes and facilitate investor onboarding.
  • Market Intelligence: Track capital market trends, competitive fundraising activity, and LP preferences to inform the firm’s strategy and positioning.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all investor communications and fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations (SEC, FINRA, etc.) and maintain high standards of transparency and professionalism.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Partner closely with the investment team, portfolio company management, and senior leadership to align investor messaging with deal sourcing and value creation activities.
Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Investor Relations, Capital Raising, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets.
  • Proven track record of successfully raising capital for private equity funds, SPACs, or portfolio companies.
  • Strong existing network within institutional investors, family offices, endowments, or high‑net‑worth channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Deep understanding of private markets, fund structures, and investor due diligence processes.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting IPOs, direct listings, or public market transitions.
  • Background in Industrials, Healthcare, Aerospace & Defense, or other specialized sectors.
  • Previous experience at an independent sponsor, PE fund, or investment bank focused on middle‑market transactions.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and investor database platforms.
