The Fiscal Manager works in the Central Business Office of a large law enforcement agency with approximately 2,800 employees, providing department-wide oversight of payroll operations. Responsibilities include bi-weekly payroll processing, internal control reviews, payroll funding adjustments, over payment collection, payroll initiatives coordination, and serving as lead manager of the Central Payroll Unit supervising full-time and seasonal employees. The role requires analyzing financial transactions, maintaining internal controls, preparing financial reports, and delivering excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Keyqualifications:
- Three years' experience analyzing financial problems and recommending solutions to management
- One year of experience assembling, analyzing and interpreting financial and accounting data and preparing comprehensive financial reports
- One year of experience in budget management and control
- Six months' experience in staff supervision including planning, assigning, reviewing and evaluating work of others
- Six months' experience using automated human resource or payroll management information systems
