HONOR GUARD Program Specialist Security Clearance

Position: HONOR GUARD PROGRAM SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* Responsible for policy implementation, and delivery of Military Funeral Honors programs throughout the Air and Space Force enterprise.
* Prepares and staffs various emergent Honor Guard taskers on behalf of AFMAO Commander.
* Delivers presentations and provides training to military and civilian audiences on the full scope of the Military Funeral Honor program and services available for service members and their families.

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
* Employee may occasionally be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evening and weekends.
* Position subject to recall and/or be in an on-call status outside normal duty hours or on holidays. May be required to carry AFMAO provided cell phone/PDA after normal duty hours.
* Must respond to emergencies within a reasonable amount of time as directed by leadership
* Must be able to obtain and maintain the Secret security clearance.
* This position is key. The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability (continued..)
* of the parent Federal Agency of office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW:

* This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing.
* The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment in accordance with AFM 44-198, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes (1) applying a wide range of complex inspection principles, concepts, and practices in order to recognize and resolve discrepancies, and develop new approaches, methods, or procedures to improve data gathering and analysis techniques;

(2) working with analytical and evaluative methods/techniques to assess the efficiency and effectiveness or operations and the improvement of programs; (3) working with regulatory and compliance standards; quality/process improvement principles and processes; resource and budget management processing. OR

EDUCATION:

Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.
