We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.
Asa Safety Officer with BCCS, you will:
- Maintain safety, including techniques to address disruptive, uncooperative persons.
- Follow policies and procedures established
- Follow policies and procedures established by BCCS; visible to staff, offering support and modeling service behaviors and concern resolution process.
- Provide Crisis intervention
- Respond to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization.
- Patrol building and parking lots to prevent loitering, unauthorized parking and smoking
- Direct traffic safely in BCCS parking lots
- Monitor parking lots, BCCS grounds, and buildings to ensure safety
- Assist handicapped clients to enter clinic when necessary.
- Keep order and maintains an orderly line in dispensing
- Assist nurses in the event of a client incident.
- Assist with maintaining safe and clean grounds
- Write incident reports
- Provide assistance to unruly, uncooperative and disruptive clients from premises.
- Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary to ensure business parameter is safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Client Contact and Responsibilities
- The Safety Officer maintains daily contact with clients in an effort to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- HS diploma or GED OR 5 years of verified work experience is Required
- PREFERRED: 1 year experience in the Drug and Alcohol Field
- PREFERRED: 1 year de-escalation experience
This position requires the ability to stand for the length of the shift and to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule:- Saturday and Sunday
- 8:00 a.m.
- 1:00 p.m.
- Starting at $17/hr.
- Commensurate with experience
