Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Above Expectations, we believe support is more than a service — it’s a relationship built on dignity, compassion, and possibility. We provide person-centered residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Delaware, helping each person build independence, meaningful connections, and a life they’re proud of. Our team celebrates small wins, creates big opportunities, and shows up every day ready to make a difference.

If you’re passionate about helping others, thrive in a purpose-driven environment, and want your work to truly matter, you’ll feel at home here. At Above Expectations, every role has impact, every voice is valued, and every day is a chance to serve with heart.

Lead With Purpose. Serve With Heart.

At Above Expectations, we believe leadership in residential services is more than managing a home — it’s creating a safe, empowering environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can thrive with dignity, independence, and joy.

We’re looking for a Program Supervisor who is passionate about people, strong in leadership, and committed to excellence. This role is ideal for someone who understands that quality care starts with strong systems, supported staff, and person-centered values.

If you are energized by coaching teams, ensuring compliance, and making a real impact in the lives of the individuals we serve — we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As a Program Supervisor, you will lead with purpose and compassion — creating a home environment where individuals feel safe, respected, and empowered. You’ll guide your team, strengthen operations, ensure compliance, and model the standard of care we expect at Above Expectations. Your leadership will directly influence both staff success and quality of life for the individuals we serve.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the daily operations of one or more residential homes
  • Ensure services align with Individual Support Plans (ISPs), Behavior Support Plans, and company policies
  • Monitor the health, safety, and overall well-being of individuals served
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained home environment
Staff Supervision & Development
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure proper shift coverage
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Address employee concerns and implement corrective action when necessary
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure full compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation including progress notes and incident reports
  • Participate in audits, licensing reviews, and inspections
Individual Advocacy & Support
  • Promote person-centered practices that foster independence and community inclusion
  • Communicate effectively with families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Advocate for the rights, dignity, and needs of individuals served
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
  • Monitor household budgets, expenses, and inventory
  • Coordinate medical appointments, transportation, and activities
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention
Who You Are

You are a confident, steady leader who understands that strong homes start with strong supervision. You lead with integrity, communicate clearly, and hold people accountable — while still showing compassion and respect. You are organized, solution-focused, and committed to ensuring both staff and individuals receive the support they deserve.

Qualifications:
  • 2–3+ years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff

Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CPR/First Aid/AED, Mandt, and Medication Administration certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and clearances
