Neurological Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist - Dover, Delaware
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a growing outpatient rehabilitation team specializing in neurological recovery and functional restoration. This opportunity is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about helping individuals improve independence, maximize daily function, and achieve meaningful recovery goals.
The Occupational Therapist will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients experiencing neurological, vestibular, cognitive, and functional impairments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and functional goals
- Implement therapeutic interventions designed to improve daily living skills, mobility, cognition, coordination, and independence
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment strategies, safety, and home programs
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care
- Supervise support staff and therapy assistants in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
- Support a positive and patient-focused clinical environment
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current NBCOT certification
- Active Delaware Occupational Therapist license
- Minimum of one year of clinical Occupational Therapy experience
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Preferred
- Experience in neurological rehabilitation, concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, or brain injury recovery
- Experience supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Interest in advanced rehabilitation techniques and specialty care programs
