Behavioral Consultant Assistant (BCaBA)

This BCaBA position is based in Camden Wyoming, Delaware, a small, welcoming community that offers quiet charm and a relaxed pace of life while still being just a short drive from Dover and the amenities of central Delaware. The area is known for its friendly neighborhoods, family-oriented atmosphere, and easy access to scenic country roads, parks, and local farms. Residents can enjoy nearby attractions such as Brecknock County Park with its walking trails and historic sites, seasonal events and fresh local produce at nearby farm markets, and local dining spots that reflect the area's close-knit character.

Camden Wyoming provides a peaceful environment ideal for professionals seeking a balanced lifestyle, with access to schools, shopping, and entertainment in surrounding towns without the congestion of larger cities.

In this role, the BCaBA will work under the supervision of a BCBA to deliver high-quality applied behavior analysis services to clients in the Camden Wyoming and greater central Delaware region. Services may occur in client homes, local schools, community settings, or a clinic environment depending on caseload needs. The position centers on providing evidence-based interventions designed to support skill acquisition, reduce challenging behaviors, and improve overall quality of life for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or behavioral needs.

A typical day in this role involves traveling to scheduled sessions in the local area, implementing individualized treatment plans, and maintaining detailed, accurate data on client progress. The BCaBA will conduct direct treatment sessions using ABA strategies that may include discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, functional communication training, reinforcement systems, and visual supports. The BCaBA will collect and graph data on targeted behaviors and skills, monitor trends, and collaborate with the supervising BCBA to adjust programming based on outcomes.

Responsibilities include assisting with functional behavior assessments under BCBA direction, contributing to the development and refinement of behavior intervention plans, and ensuring interventions are implemented with fidelity. The BCaBA will participate in team meetings to review client progress, discuss case conceptualization, and align strategies across home, school, and community settings. Regular communication with families and caregivers is expected, including explaining treatment procedures in understandable terms, modeling interventions, and supporting caregiver involvement to promote generalization and maintenance of skills.

Depending on the specific practice setting, the BCaBA may have a caseload that includes children in early intervention programs, school-age students working on academic engagement and social skills, or adolescents and adults working on independence, vocational readiness, or community participation. The BCaBA will be responsible for maintaining professional documentation standards, including session notes, data summaries, and reports as requested by the supervising BCBA.

Client-to-staff ratios typically allow for focused, 1:1 intervention, with opportunities to facilitate small-group social skills sessions as appropriate. The schedule may include daytime, afternoon, and early evening hours to accommodate family and school needs, with some flexibility depending on caseload and organizational structure. The environment emphasizes collaboration, with opportunities to learn from experienced BCBAs and other professionals, participate in ongoing training in ABA best practices, and pursue professional development that supports competency growth and career progression.

Working in the Camden Wyoming area offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a community that values supportive services and close relationships, while enjoying a calm, accessible setting close to both rural attractions and urban conveniences.
