SALARY RANGE: 42.92 - 66.52 HOURLY

General Summary

Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Site manager supervises the daily activities for the CT Department and serves as a resource person for problem solving. Primary duties in CT include orientation, cross training new technologists into CT, teaching new techniques, communication, and being responsible for quality control review on all DI CT units. Ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining equipment, and compliance with departmental policies and regulations.

Operates CT equipment to produce diagnostic images of anatomy requested by the referring physician.

Responsibilities
  • Performing Procedures:
    Utilization of job-related information, technical skills and procedures, including continuous quality improvement. Perform exams in accordance with standard procedures and protocols. Utilize appropriate patient safety screening/consent forms to ensure all safety precautions have been addressed prior to procedure. Properly position patients with Bayhealth approved immobilization equipment, as necessary.
  • Personnel / Staffing:
    Supervise assigned team members during daily operations. Provides adequate staffing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle the workload for the appropriate shift /time. Maintains Call Schedule. Post team members work schedules in the department one week prior to the scheduled work assignment and call schedules sent to the hospital switchboard before the first of every month.

    Understand payroll practices, to accurately approve and loads work schedules into the payroll system for assigned team members to ensure that each team member is paid according to the correct number of hours worked per pay period.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations for assigned team members by the assigned due date for signature approvals. Ensure Technologists have access to the policies and are knowledgeable of all policies and procedures that are pertinent to their job duties. Corrective Actions:
    All formal corrective actions are handled with the Site manager. Attendance issues are tracked for employees and document variances per policies. Performance issues are monitored and counsel team members for unsatisfactory performance regarding Imaging protocols and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements for CT Exams. Quality issues are reported by monthly QAs from the radiologists, PACS and management. Once QAs are reviewed by techs, the site lead will follow up with necessary education and if needed to elevate to DI Management.
  • New Hires:
    Involved with all CT applicants by setting up interviews and documenting recommendations for hire. Ensures all on boarding education is completed before new team members are assigned to work with patients. For new hires that are not CT trained, the CT supervisor will be responsible for the training/documentation and assignments during the training period this includes the Freestanding ED.
