The Medical Biller is a full-time, on-site role. In this position, the individual will obtain prior authorizations from numerous insurance companies, review and submit medical claims to insurance carriers, Medicare, and other payers, ensuring accurate coding and timely reimbursement. Daily responsibilities include verifying patient insurance coverage, entering and updating billing information, monitoring claim status, and following up on unpaid or denied claims.

The Medical Biller will work with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies, correct coding errors, and maintain compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory standards. Additional tasks may include generating patient statements, answering billing inquiries, and maintaining organized billing records and reports.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology and ability to interpret clinical documentation for billing purposes.
• Proficiency with ICD-10 coding and related billing codes to ensure accurate claim submission.
• Experience working with insurance companies and Medicare, including verification of coverage and benefits.
• Knowledge of denial management, including identifying reasons for denials and taking corrective action to resolve them.
• Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, payers, and healthcare team members in a professional manner.
• Prior experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management in a healthcare setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in medical billing and coding is a plus.
