HR Specialist – Bear, DE (Onsite)
The Human Resources Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and helps ensure effective delivery of HR programs, policies, and services. This role is responsible for a broad range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, HRIS management, and performance support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Support full-cycle recruiting efforts: posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offers.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Administer benefits enrollment, employee changes, and respond to employee benefit inquiries.
- Assist with payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee data, timekeeping records, and status changes are submitted timely.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and general questions.
- Support employee relations matters by documenting issues, coordinating investigations, and partnering with management as needed.
- Assist with performance management processes including reviews, disciplinary actions, and development planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and internal policies.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and audits related to headcount, turnover, recruiting, and compliance.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and company events.
- Support leave of absence administration including FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, and other leave programs.
- Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience in a generalist or specialist capacity.
- Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- High level of discretion with confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Proactive and service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
