** _What Employee Relations & Labor Relations contributes to Cardinal Health_*
* Human Resources designs, implements and delivers human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, talent management, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, among others. This function anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs in alignment with business strategies.

Employee Relations provides impartial advice and counsel to managers and employees on a wide variety of employee relations and management issues. This job family is responsible for conducting investigations, preparing responses to federal, state and local governmental agencies and conducing organizational health engagements focusing on positive employee relations. Labor Relations is responsible for ensuring the health of existing collective bargaining agreements, educating management on union awareness and addressing third party attempts to organize our workforce.

** _About Organizational Health and Labor Relations_*
* Organizational Health & Labor Relations is responsible for promoting positive employee relations and monitoring employee trends that may escalate to adverse labor or workplace action(s).  If those actions take place, Organizational Health and Labor Relations operationalizes resources to ensure direct employer-employee relationships.

** _Responsibilities_*
* Organizational Health Engagement (OHE) Facilitation:

+ Partner with employees and leadership teams to build healthy culture.

+ Perform operational culture engagements in distribution, manufacturing, and clinical facilities.

+ Gather employee feedback through focus groups and boots-on-the-ground interactions.

+ Educate leadership teams on union awareness and best-demonstrated practices.

+ Analyze employee feedback to determine notable trends and deliver actionable recommendations.

+ Conduct 15-20 engagements, annually.

+ Travel to facilities 50% of time, with short notice at times.

Project Support and Labor Relations:

+ Develop programs, tools and processes to promote organizational health, leadership effectiveness, and employee engagement.

+ Publish educational labor relations materials for operations leaders and HR managers.

+ Identify labor relations trends and risks to proactively recommend mitigation strategies.

+ Support company response to labor events requiring quick action and travel on short notice.

** _Qualifications_*
* + Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred

+ 5+ years' experience in people leadership, employee relations, labor relations, or related field preferred

+ Experience working with frontline operations employees within distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, etc. Preferred

+ Experience providing proactive, positive employee relations in union-free operations.

+ Strong working knowledge of labor law, employment law, HR policies and HR practices

+ Strong communication and influencing skills

+ Ability to work independently and take initiative

+ Ability to establish relationships with hourly employees and multi-level leadership

+ Ability to remain effective and act with sound judgement in high-pressure environments

+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, data analysis, and social media
