The SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) Business Unit (BU) is on the ground floor across the future remote sensing ecosystem for all orbital regimes (LEO, MEO, HEO, and GEO). We have an immediate opportunity for an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Engineer who is excited to apply their talents to our customer s challenging project and one who will thrive in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands-on expertise and an excellent understanding of engineering processes supporting large, National Defense, Agile software development programs.

Responsibilities- Design, deploy, operate, and maintain Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions supporting mission-critical systems
- Manage and sustain development, test, and production environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security
- Support the full infrastructure lifecycle, including planning, procurement, capitalization, recapitalization, and refresh of hardware and software
- Collaborate with software, security, and program teams to integrate infrastructure into Dev Sec Ops pipelines
- Implement and maintain secure system configurations in accordance with DoD, RMF, and NIST requirements
- Participate in Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including system documentation, control implementation, and audits
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and lead root-cause analysis for infrastructure incidents
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Support technical reviews, program milestones, and customer briefings by preparing and presenting infrastructure-related material
- Track and report task progress, risks, and dependencies to the team lead or program management
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including automation, standardization, and modernization initiatives
- Work collaboratively across teams to resolve technical challenges and support program delivery
- Ensure compliance with security, configuration management, and change control processes

- Secret clearance
- Bachelor s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, information security, Dev Sec Ops , or infrastructure engineering
- Demonstrated experience procuring commercial hardware and software to support capitalization and recapitalization of IT infrastructure
- Experience supporting development, test, and production environments
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to:
- Prepare technical documentation and presentation materials
- Present at internal and external technical reviews
- Provide clear status updates on task progress and deliverables
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Detail oriented
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, Kanban)
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) concepts and environments
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and relevant NIST publications, including:
- NIST SP 800-53
- NIST SP 800-60
- NIST SP 800-161
- Experience supporting secure or regulated systems (DoD, IC, or federal environments)

The proposed salary for this position is:
$123,900—$206,400 USD
