Overview

The Azure Cloud Engineer III is primarily responsible for providing day-to-day administration and support on our Enterprise Support Team and Azure customers. This position will work on resolving technical problems, performing maintenance tasks, handling security alerts, and managing all Azure and IaaS environments. The engineer will also support customers through Digital Transformation initiatives, converting web hosting from legacy systems to serverless architectures and Infrastructure-as-Code, while maintaining cost optimization and security best practices.

Primary

Position Tasks
  • Evaluate environments for process improvement and make recommendations.
  • Provide cloud consultation for MSP clients.
  • Create automated approaches and scripts for system administration tasks.
  • Develop, support, and document automated build and configuration management processes.
  • Optimize Intune and Autopilot.
  • Develop and implement conditional access.
  • Manage PKI certificates.
  • Manage Azure Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot, manage, and remediate Azure tickets with a focus on the Well Architected Framework.
  • Review cost optimization reports, make recommendations, and implement optimization tasks following change management processes.
  • Day‑to‑day management of Office 365.
  • Deliver training on alert triage and remediation steps for the 24/7/365 NOC team and other administrators and engineers.
  • Create and execute change management requests following best practice.
  • Participate in RFO documentation.
  • Previous experience with fast‑paced consulting or MSP environment is a plus.
Minimum Education /Certification/Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 2–4 years IT experience supporting Azure and IaaS environments.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft IaaS services in distributed computing environments.
  • Experience with JSON and Power Shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting the following technologies:
    • Azure/O365
    • Azure Active Directory
    • Azure Databases (Azure SQL, Azure MySQL)
    • Azure Dev Ops
    • ASR
    • Azure Cost Management
    • ATP
    • Azure Networking
    • Azure Storage
    • Compliance and Security
    • Duo and OKTA
    • Nutanix
  • Experience managing core Microsoft technologies and services:
    Windows Server 2012 or newer, Active Directory, DNS, NPS, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Extensive experience managing Intune services.
  • Understand the delineation between Sys Ops engineering and Dev Ops engineering.
  • Ability to track all work and documentation within a ticketing system.
  • Participation on on‑call rotations.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients’ needs.
Preferred Education/Certification/Experience
  • Architect, design, develop and implement cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure across multiple platforms and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or other major vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of SAN and backup technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Cisco, VCE, Dell, and other major vendors of infrastructure technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of Veeam, Varonis, Druva.
  • Implementation and regular review of Azure Advisor best practice recommendations.
  • Regular review of Azure Monitor analytics and logs.
  • Set up best practice alerting within Azure and Cloud Chckr.
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Microsoft exam AZ‑500.
