Auto Appraiser - Catastrophic Loss

To inspect, identify, and evaluate auto vehicles involved in a loss.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesAppraises and determines costs of repairs to damaged vehicle in the field; determines repair versus replace and parts utilization.
Evaluates and determines if the vehicle is repairable or salvageable based on industry standard estimatics software.
Travels to inspection locations to appraise vehicles in the field.
Prepares estimates using estimatics software.
Works directly with auto repair facilities to determine supplemental repair processing and provides a supplemental estimate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Travels as required.
Prior catastrophe (CAT) appraisal experience is a strong plus for this position. The role may require deployment in support of CAT operations, particularly during peak summer months. Deployments can involve extensive travel, extended work hours, and temporary relocation based on business needs. During non‑CAT periods, colleagues are expected to consistently manage daily appraisal volume within their assigned home territory, demonstrating strong time management, autonomy, and adherence to productivity and quality standards.

Education & Licensing
High school diploma or GED required. Licenses as required by state guidelines.
Experience
Three (3) years of related experience to include at least one (1) year of appraisal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of automobiles
Ability to understand and utilize appraisal software
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent negotiating skills
Ability to work in a team environment

and must have continual use of manual dexterity.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $51,000-$75,000/Year.
