REPORTS TO: Head of School
OVERVIEW: The Business Manager provides strategic leadership for non-academic functions, overseeing budget, fiscal management, human resources, facilities, transportation, and food services, ensuring efficient, equitable operations that support student learning, and acting as a key advisor to the Head of School on budget, policy, and systemic improvements to deliver safe, welcoming, and well-functioning schools.

Conduct fiscal planning to include forecasting anticipated revenue, expenditures, and needs to ensure sound financial operations and no unexpected budget deficits.
Prepare the annual budget for Board approval, acting under the direction of the Head of School and in accordance with legal requirements. Prepare and timely file the annual budget and associated reports, forms and tax requests with state and local officials in accordance with state law and regulations. Administer the adopted budget in accordance with legal requirements. Assist other personnel in the development of budget planning.
Assist in the search, development, and submission of grant proposals and other available funding beyond State and local tax revenues.
Ensure prudent use of funds by providing adequate control and accounting of the LEA's financial and physical resources and the development and implementation of sound business practices. Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met. Direct and monitor cash, check, and other receipts and deposits.
Implement a system of cash flow management, including use of bonding systems and borrowing as necessary, to ensure the timely payment of obligations.
Direct completion of an annual external audit and implement procedures for periodic internal audits of accounts and expenditures.
Supervise and direct the daily operations of Facilities, Transportation, and Food Services departments. Set clear goals for performance and growth across all operational divisions; monitor progress and ensure accountability. Oversee contracts, vendor relationships, and service agreements to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services to the school. Provide leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to leaders in all areas of operations.
